Cl_lw 0 would preform just as good on LAN because your don't have to connect to anything and it would just be shitty if the computer was shitty, amiright?

I had this problem since 7 years now.
It's nothing you can easily fix..
basicaly the models are not fitting to the hitboxes.
Changing Models won't help. Any special Commands won't help.
Only thing to solve this is play with the netsettings.

Basicaly the problem is: often ex_interp 0.009 and 0.1 are not enough to clip the models to the hitboxes again.

You will see that when spectating a good player (he gotta hit everything), while playing around with the netsettings.
Sometimes you will experience that this guy is shooting around 8 meters BEHIND the model to kill, sometimes its about 30 cm, sometimes the hitboxes are exactly on the model.

I checked most of the settings with different gfx-cards, monitors, pcs on LAN and in the Internet,
nothing worked permanently so far.
whenever I found a solution (suddenly all is fine).. 3 days, a week, 2 months later on same server, same settings, same set-up: problem occurs again.

CS is messed up there.
Steam won't do shit, they probably didn't find the problem and stopped working on that issue.

ps: it's the same with different CS versions. Oh, and also Source :P

also remarkable:
this depends on the movement of an opponent.
When he is standing still for exactly the time of the offset, hitboxes and model are on the same place.
however, if the player moves, the hitbox will follow after x-amount of time.

this can also be reversed over interp: the model is behind the hitbox.

What you can say is:
There is a SET time
the model is behind/infront of the hitbox.
(probably between: 10ms to 70ms, varies).

I also tried to switch the internet provider.
soooo: what could the source be?
Maybe it's a problem that occurs the moment your Internet is too fast.
When I used to play with a Modem, ISDN or DSL 1000 I didn't experience any problems, since DSL 2000 is out this problem is around.
This is the only thing I've found so far. Sorry to disappoint you but probably you're just fucked.

Sooo: what can you do?
learn to adjust your netsettings according to the offset of model & hitbox,
this way you can get a static offset of probably 10-20ms,
then you look closely at the movement of the players.. and fuck them up by shooting into blank space.
I'm the best proof this works.
Still get banned for hacking (while playing legit) even though I have that stupid handicap.
Do this for 2 years
and when you play on LAN in a different city: own them all, once the models clip :P
(or quit playing CS.)
